Welcome to Knoxville Music and Dance!

Knoxville Music and Dance is your source for exciting music and dance events and entertainment in Knoxville, TN. After becoming involved in music and dance in the
Raleigh, NC area the summer of 2005, David Valentine moved to East Tennessee in
2007 and became involved in the Knoxville Music and Dance scene. What started as
Greater East Tennessee Dance or (GetDanceNow) in late summer 2008, has now expanded into a leading resource for Music & Dance events in Knoxville.

The mission of Knoxville Music and Dance is to improve the quality and quantity of
music and dance events here in Knoxville and the surrounding area. We want to
promote the growth of all styles and forms of dancing, while at the same time, providing
the community with a fun, friendly and social atmosphere they will enjoy and want to be
a part of. We support educational programs among the public about the healthful
aspects of recreational dancing. We believe there are many physical, mental and social
benefits to dancing and these benefits have a positive impact on those of all ages and capabilities.

Not a dance studio, but certainly encouraging others to learn, Knoxville Music and
Dance is about bringing people together in different places with different events
designed for people to meet and socialize. We present music and dance through a host
of venues in and around the Knoxville area. We will work closely with local community
organizations like the Kerbela Shriners and others throughout the area to raise
awareness and engage the public about music and dance. We are interested in
promoting a number of social events and are always looking for new outlets and
interests.

We welcome local dancers, out-of-towners and newcomers alike to participate in our
numerous events. We encourage all of those involved in helping shape the direction
and activities of Knoxville Music and Dance. We plan to have several events of varying
sizes and entertainment in and around the Knoxville area. We are here to help you find
the latest information about upcoming events in the Knoxville area, and the events
Knoxville Music and Dance itself promotes.
